Power Failure Troubleshooting

Has there been a power outage recently?

  1. If the power outage is ongoing, please wait for power to be restored.
    • Once the power has been restored, the system will switch from backup battery back to its electrical source and begin recharging the backup battery.

Check the power adapter

  1. Make sure the power adapter is securely plugged into the electrical outlet. Some power adapters will have an LED that lights up when it is on.
  2. Check the wiring at the power adapter to make sure nothing has come loose.

Check the oulet

  1. Unplug the alarm system’s power adapter.
  2. Plug a small appliance (such as a light or hair dryer) into the same outlet to check if it is providing power.

Check your circuit breaker box

  1. If there is no power to the outlet, check your home circuit’s breaker box.
  2. If any of the breaker switches are in the OFF position, flip the switch to the ON position.
